Front-end Engineer

HelloGov AI is a growing government technology company that uses artificial intelligence to make government services easier for everyone. Our platform helps people complete tasks such as passport applications, travel visas, vehicle registration, and business registration in a faster and simpler way. We are looking for a skilled Front-End Software Engineer to join our team at our Miami office.

As a Front-End Software Engineer, you will build clean and user-friendly interfaces for our website, checkout system, customer portal, and internal admin dashboard. You will work closely with the Engineering Lead, back-end developers, product managers, and designers to create reusable components and scalable front-end solutions. Your work will also help improve AI-powered features and speed up the release of new products.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys developing modern web applications, solving real-world problems, and working with a collaborative team from development to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve web applications using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Create reusable UI components and maintain a scalable front-end structure.
• Turn Figma designs into responsive and accessible web pages.
• Develop interactive workflows and document-based user experiences.
• Connect applications with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Build real-time features using WebSockets.
• Support AI-based features and customer workflows.
• Manage user authentication with Auth0.
• Deploy applications on Vercel and monitor performance using Sentry.
• Write clean, organized, and maintainable code.
• Take ownership of features from development to production.
• Join code reviews and work with the team to improve code quality.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in front-end development.
• Strong knowledge of Next.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience building and launching production-ready web applications.
• Experience working with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Good understanding of responsive design, reusable components, and design systems.
• Familiar with Auth0 or OAuth authentication.
• Experience using GitHub and modern development practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Available to work on-site at our Brickell, Miami office from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Node.js or NestJS.
• Experience with WebSockets or Socket.io.
• Familiar with Figma.
• Experience using Vercel, Sentry, Puppeteer, Mailgun, or EasyPost.
• Experience with AI tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or ChatGPT.
• Experience building AI-powered software or integrating Large Language Model (LLM) APIs.
• Experience working with PHP frameworks.
