This is a full-time, hybrid Principal Platform Software Engineer role on Evolv Technologies’ R&D team, based in Waltham, MA, focused on crafting the future of Evolv’s AI-powered security screening platform. The role centers on high-performance, low-level C++ software running on complex sensory embedded systems.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build high-performance, low-level C++ software running on Evolv’s sensory embedded security platform.
• Apply hands-on debugging skills to complex, sensor-driven software systems.
• Design and implement software within a CI/CD (DevOps) environment, supporting both new releases and ongoing product improvements.
• Bring versatility across multiple technologies as part of a small but growing engineering team.
• Help enable a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, and technical excellence across the engineering organization.

What You’ll Need

• Strong, hands-on experience writing high-performance, low-level C++ software.
• Experience with complex, sensor-driven or embedded software systems.
• A proven track record with both hands-on debugging and designing/implementing software in a CI/CD environment.
• Ability to work hybrid out of Evolv’s Waltham, MA office.
