QA Engineer (Manual, Web Platform)

StellarTech is an international, fast-growing product IT company that builds and publishes subscription-based mobile apps in EdTech. Its Platform team builds the in-house platform every product runs on: web funnels, payments, subscriptions and integrations with third-party services.

The company wants a QA Engineer to join its team of manual QA engineers and own the quality of Platform functionality in a startup rhythm of short iterations and frequent releases. QA is also where the Monetization, Finance and Product Tech teams turn first when something looks wrong, so StellarTech is looking for a mature specialist who finds root causes, communicates clearly and helps improve how the team works, rather than someone who only runs test cases.

Responsibilities

• Test new features end to end during development across the frontend, backend, APIs and third-party integrations.
• Run regression tests before releases and smoke tests on production after each release.
• Check business and technical requirements with Product and Engineering before development begins.
• Investigate defects using logs, API responses and network traffic, and write clear, reproducible bug reports.
• Act as the first line for requests from Monetization, Finance and Product Tech: reproduce the problem, judge severity and escalate with facts.
• Maintain test documentation in TestRail, Jira and Confluence.
• Work with the Automation QA team to decide which cases to automate.

Must-Have

• At least 4 years of manual QA on web applications, covering frontend, backend and API.
• Risk-based test design, including the ability to explain what you test, what you skip and why.
• API testing with Postman or Charles, and Swagger or OpenAPI.
• Root-cause investigation with Chrome DevTools (HAR, network, storage) and logs.
• Hands-on experience with the full release cycle: feature testing, regression and production smoke testing.
• Daily use of AI tools such as Claude or Cursor in QA work, with a critical eye on what they produce.
• Experience at a product company or startup with frequent releases.
• Written English good enough for documentation and bug reports.
• Ownership and transparent communication, including flagging risks and delays early.

Nice to Have

• Payments and subscriptions testing, such as Chargebee, Adapty, Payrails, trials, taxes and Apple Pay or Google Pay.
• Web funnels and A/B experiments.
• Analytics event validation with Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and GTM dataLayer.
• Datadog or Grafana.
• Experience testing AI-powered features.
• Basic Playwright and TypeScript.
