Camunda, an enterprise platform for agentic orchestration used by more than 700 organizations worldwide, is hiring a Senior Manager of QA Engineering to lead the end-to-end QA strategy for Camunda 8. The job is to raise quality governance through firm quality gates, outcome-driven automation and strategic reporting that informs roadmap and release decisions.

The manager will lead two teams, functional and reliability, made up of 12 individual contributors, a principal engineer and a manager, and will reshape the structure as the organization scales. Coverage must span business users, developers, and admins or operators across Kubernetes, cloud and bare-metal environments. This is a first-of-its-kind role reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, and Camunda states it is an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the end-to-end QA strategy for Camunda 8, setting quality gates and cross-team accountability.
• Work with principal engineering to mature reliability, performance and resilience testing.
• Guide automation strategy and QA processes so teams deliver high-quality results efficiently.
• Build useful quality metrics, dashboards and reports that inform leadership and roadmap choices.
• Lead and scale QA teams, including managers, principal engineers and individual contributors, and evolve their structure for maximum impact.
• Influence stakeholders in engineering, product, UX, documentation and field teams to build quality into the whole organization.

What You Bring

• Willingness and ability to use Camunda’s own product.
• A proven record of leading QA in engineering organizations of 100 to 500 people, with measurable impact.
• The ability to define and implement end-to-end QA strategy, quality gates and data-informed decision-making across several teams.
• Comfort staying close to hands-on QA work while leading strategically.
• Experience raising the level of QA for complex technical products, including developer and admin persona coverage and high-load, performance and resilience testing.
• The skill to align engineering, product, UX, documentation and field teams around shared quality goals.
• A background in enterprise software or workflow automation.

Nice to Have

• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, cloud, microservices and the operational challenges that come with them.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, TestRail or CI/CD-integrated testing environments.
• Experience with chaos engineering or advanced reliability and performance benchmarking.
• A proven ability to drive cultural change in QA.

Compensation

Camunda describes its pay as competitive, fair and transparent, with location-based ranges that reflect Standard and Major markets. The figures are annual total target cash (base salary plus a 100% variable target, where applicable), running from the low end of a Standard market to the high end of a Major market. Final offers depend on skills, experience and location, and Camunda typically hires in the first half of the range.

The ranges are: United States $175,600 to $283,100; United Kingdom 110,200 to 181,300 pounds; Singapore S$218,100 to S$327,100; Canada C$186,400 to C$306,700. Candidates based elsewhere are hired through Remote.com, Camunda’s global employer partner, and receive a personalized total rewards calculator after the first interview.
