Sporty Group is looking for a Senior QA Engineer who takes ownership of the quality of every release. The company says it does not treat QA as a blocker: its testers are given real authority, including the call on what is ready to launch and what needs more work.

This is a hybrid position covering both manual testing and automation, with involvement at every stage of development, from gathering requirements and estimating through final testing and launch. Because the team collaborates daily, the engineer must be based in a European time zone.

Tech Stack

Responsibilities

• Test the web platform and the Android and iOS apps, using black-box, white-box, integration and performance approaches.
• Log product issues, analyze them with a range of tools and feed findings back to the people who can fix them.
• Write test plans and test cases, and produce test reports based on feature requirements, sharing test information with teammates.
• Recreate user needs and real usage scenarios from the user’s point of view.
• Take an active part in team discussions and challenge requirements and acceptance criteria to keep them clear and testable.
• Create automated test cases for web, mobile and API.
• Track and analyze automated test runs to make testing more efficient.
• Build automated tests and test frameworks.
• Improve the continuous integration pipeline and help automate every part of the software engineering process.
• Review designs and code from colleagues and give constructive feedback.
• Keep developing your own skills and mentor less experienced team members.
• Find and act on chances to improve or set up quality processes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of testing experience.
• A solid grasp of testing types: unit, integration, end-to-end, regression, stress and performance, and API testing.
• Manual testing experience across web, Android, iOS and APIs.
• Experience with web debugging and API testing tools such as Chrome DevTools and Postman.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, preferably MySQL.
• Strong Python experience.
• Test automation experience with REST APIs.
• Test automation experience for mobile apps on Android and iOS.
• Test automation experience for web apps using Selenium or Playwright.
• Experience developing and running a continuous integration system.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Jira and Jenkins is an advantage.

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems or electrical engineering.
