Devsu
Quick Facts
- Work Policy: Remote
- Job Type: Full-time, long-term contractor basis
About the Role
Devsu is hiring a QA Engineer to support two of its international clients, one in the battery industry and one in the investment industry. Both clients rely on modern web applications, and this role exists to keep those applications reliable through a combination of automated and manual testing. You’ll split your time between building out Playwright/TypeScript automation suites and staying hands-on with day-to-day manual testing, so the role suits someone who is equally comfortable writing code-based tests and working through tickets by hand. Because you’ll be supporting two separate clients at once, the position calls for someone who can context-switch cleanly between different codebases and priorities while keeping quality consistent across both.
What You’ll Do
On the automation side, you’ll build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript, applying Page Object Model practices so the frameworks you create stay scalable and easy for the rest of the team to extend over time. Automated tests don’t live in isolation, so part of the job is integrating them into CI/CD pipelines and then actually reading and analyzing the resulting test reports rather than just letting them run.
On the manual side, you’ll validate user stories, bug fixes, and support tickets by hand, making sure that what ships actually matches what was asked for and that reported issues are genuinely resolved before they’re closed out. Data validation work comes up regularly too, so you’ll be writing and optimizing SQL queries to check that the underlying data is correct, not just that the UI looks right.
None of this happens in a vacuum: you’ll be working closely with developers through Git, participating in code reviews and pull requests, and collaborating cross-functionally with the broader team to keep improving both product quality and the testing process itself as the two client engagements evolve.
- Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript
- Perform manual testing, including validating user stories, bug fixes, and support tickets
- Apply Page Object Model practices to build scalable automation frameworks
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation
- Collaborate with developers through Git workflows, code reviews, and pull requests
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and analyze test reports
- Work cross-functionally to improve product quality and testing processes
What You’ll Need
This is a role for someone whose TypeScript skills go well beyond basic JavaScript with type annotations bolted on; Devsu is looking for genuine, hands-on Playwright experience rather than someone picking it up on the job. Alongside that, you should already be comfortable with manual QA and ticket verification work, and have a solid grasp of the Page Object Model as a design pattern for test automation.
Strong SQL and relational database knowledge is expected, since data validation is a real part of the job rather than an occasional task. You’ll also need practical experience with Git and pull request workflows, and familiarity with how CI/CD pipelines and test reporting fit together in a modern engineering team. Because you’ll be working with international clients and colleagues, intermediate to advanced English is required for day-to-day communication.
