Full Stack Engineer

Convergent

Remote United Kingdom Full-time

Description

This is a high-impact, foundational role in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. As one of our first engineers, you’re not just building features—you’re building core parts of the product and the systems behind them. Your mission is to transform powerful generative AI capabilities into an intuitive, real-time platform, while also ensuring the backend is reliable, scalable, and secure.

You will:

  • Work closely with AI, product, and design to architect and build features end-to-end (frontend + backend).
  • Design and build core application systems: AI agent experiences, data visualization, and a real-time simulation interface for video, audio, chat, and beyond.
  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs that power simulations, including auth, session management, billing hooks, permissions, and orchestration of AI workflows.
  • Integrate LLM pipelines and agentic systems into production via robust backend patterns: queues/jobs, rate limiting, retries, caching, and observability.
  • Own data flows across the stack: schema design, database performance, event tracking, and analytics pipelines that inform product iteration.
  • Rapidly prototype new AI-driven features—from initial prompt/design to full-stack implementation—and ship in tight loops.
  • Improve performance and reliability: optimize latency for real-time experiences, harden APIs, and contribute to deployment/infra practices as we scale.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer, ideally in a startup or similarly fast-paced environment.
  • Strong with modern frontend technologies (React/Next.js) and solid backend experience building APIs/services (Node.js/TypeScript, Postgres/Supabase or similar).
  • Experience with real-time systems (WebSockets/WebRTC) and integrating AI/LLM SDKs (e.g., Vercel AI SDK, LangChain).
  • Comfortable with backend fundamentals: API design, database modeling, caching, background jobs/queues, security basics, and monitoring.
  • Strong product mindset and attention to UX—able to sweat the details and ship polished experiences.
  • Interest in generative AI, LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agentic architectures.

Remote work requirements: Reliable internet connection and ability to work effectively using modern collaboration tools.

Benefits

Compensation:

Compensation varies based on profile and experience, but a general cash range (fixed comp + performance variable) is $100,000-$250,000, plus a very competitive equity package.

Description

We are looking for a highly technical Senior QA Automation Technical Lead to lead and evolve our automation quality engineering capabilities.

This role is focused on technical leadership, architecture, and engineering excellence in the automation domain. The role will guide and mentor QA Automation Engineers while building the automation infrastructure, frameworks, and standards that enable scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient testing across the organization.

The ideal candidate is passionate about developer enablement and treats test automation as an engineering platform rather than a standalone QA activity. This role works closely with development, DevOps, and platform engineering teams to integrate automated quality validation deeply into the CI/CD lifecycle and development workflows.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to QA Automation Engineers and development teams on automation architecture, standards, and best practices
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks, testing infrastructure, and reusable automation tooling
  • Integrate automated testing deeply into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows to improve release confidence and delivery speed
  • Build self-service automation capabilities that enable developers to easily implement, execute, and maintain tests independently
  • Improve automation reliability, execution efficiency, observability, and infrastructure cost optimization
  • Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and platform engineering teams to promote shift-left quality engineering practices
  • Define and drive automation KPIs, quality standards, execution stability, and continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering organization

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in QA Automation / Quality Engineering
  • Strong technical leadership experience in automation architecture and engineering practices
  • Strong hands-on development skills in one or more programming languages
  • Deep experience with test automation frameworks and scalable automation design
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, and modern development platforms
  • Experience with scalable automation execution strategies and infrastructure optimization
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and automation environments
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and systems thinking capabilities
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or quality engineering platforms
  • Experience with mobile applications testing and mobile automation frameworks
  • Experience implementing data quality validation, data pipeline testing, and automated data consistency checks
  • Knowledge of observability and monitoring tooling
  • Experience in high-scale SaaS or distributed systems environments
