About the Role

A Digital Twin is only as valuable as the trust users place in it. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll help make sure the applications, services, data pipelines, and simulations behind a Digital Twin and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) platform for military test ranges perform reliably, accurately, and securely.

You’ll own test strategy and execution across web applications, back-end APIs, 3D and geospatial data pipelines, and real-time 3D visualization environments built on game engines. You’ll build automated test suites, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, and verify that releases meet functional, visual, performance, and security requirements before they reach mission users. You’ll also help confirm that simulation outputs and 3D content accurately represent the real-world systems and environments they model, and you’ll work with full-stack developers, M&S engineers, platform engineers, and UX practitioners to catch issues early and build quality into every stage of delivery.

You’ll help define how quality is measured on a complex, emerging platform, and produce the test evidence that supports releases in regulated DoD environments.

What You’ll Need

  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering
  • Experience developing automated tests for web and desktop applications using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or pytest
  • Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman or REST Assured
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
  • Experience writing test plans, test cases, and defect reports, and tracking them in tools such as Jira or Xray
  • Experience scripting in Python, C#, or JavaScript
  • Ability to quickly learn engine-specific testing tools
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing real-time 3D, simulation, or XR applications using the Unity Test Framework, Unreal Automation Framework, AltTester, or GameDriver
  • Experience with visual regression or image-comparison testing for rendered 3D content
  • Experience profiling real-time application performance using tools such as Unity Profiler, Unreal Insights, or RenderDoc
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or Locust
  • Experience validating 3D and geospatial data, including OpenUSD, point clouds, meshes, or GIS formats
  • Experience with M&S verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A), including comparing simulation outputs against reference data
  • Experience testing cloud-native applications deployed on AWS, including containerized services on Kubernetes
  • Experience with accessibility testing against Section 508 standards, security testing, or supporting DoD ATO test evidence and compliance requirements
  • Secret clearance
  • ISTQB or an equivalent testing certification
