RIVA Solutions is looking for a Senior Test Engineer (Automation) to join its P-TACTS program team. This role focuses on building strong automated testing practices for mission-critical software in a modern DevSecOps environment.

The position combines test automation, security testing, performance testing, API testing, and manual UI testing. You’ll work closely with developers, product owners, security specialists, and other teams to improve software quality throughout the development lifecycle.

The role is suited to an experienced QA or Test Engineer who can build automation frameworks, connect automated tests with CI/CD pipelines, and help establish reliable testing processes for large-scale enterprise applications.

What You’ll Do

• Create and maintain detailed test strategies, test plans, test cases, and testing processes for the P-TACTS DevSecOps environment.
• Build automated test scripts and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to provide continuous testing and faster feedback.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks and improve automated test coverage over time.
• Perform security testing, including static and dynamic code analysis, vulnerability scanning, and compliance validation.
• Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to determine whether applications can meet scalability, reliability, and performance requirements.
• Monitor system performance and use analytics and monitoring tools to identify areas where applications can be improved.
• Set up and maintain test environments that closely represent production conditions so testing results are reliable.
• Work with development, security, operations, and other technical teams to incorporate QA practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Prepare detailed test reports, monitor defects, and work with engineering teams to coordinate issue resolution.
• Expand and improve API testing frameworks and automated scripts.
• Perform manual testing of user interfaces and customer-facing application features when needed.
• Maintain documentation covering test procedures, results, quality measurements, and related QA processes using tools such as Rally and GitLab.
• Participate in Agile activities, including sprint planning, to help the team maintain appropriate test coverage and balance testing workloads.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Professional experience designing, developing, and maintaining code-based automated testing tools.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and established QA practices.
• Hands-on experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD), including Cucumber and Gherkin.
• Previous experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer or Test Engineer within an Agile development environment.
• Strong JavaScript skills and experience creating automation frameworks.
• Good understanding of Java application development and software testing approaches.
• Experience with QA automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium/WebDriver for UI testing.
• Experience using Postman or similar tools for REST API testing.
• Experience with defect tracking and documentation platforms such as Jira and Confluence.
• Hands-on testing experience with web applications, including both front-end interfaces and back-end services.
• Experience testing large-scale enterprise applications.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.

Nice to Have

• Experience with performance and load testing tools and related testing methods.
• Experience connecting automated tests to CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab.
• Familiarity with AWS services used for testing, monitoring, and automating test environments.

Salary

The advertised pay range for this position is $125,000 to $135,000 USD. RIVA notes that the final offer may depend on factors such as relevant experience, education, training, specialized skills, and business needs.
