As a trusted nationwide firm, we continue to expand our services and are looking for an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations and support projects across the country.

In this role, you will manage day-to-day field survey activities, ensure accurate data collection, and maintain high-quality standards throughout every stage of a project.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead survey crews on a variety of projects, including boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic mapping, and construction staking.
  • Collect accurate field measurements and identify property boundaries, monuments, structures, utilities, and other site features.
  • Process, organize, and verify field data while performing necessary calculations before submitting project files.
  • Conduct project-related research when required.
  • Follow project plans and instructions provided by project managers.
  • Keep regular communication with the Field Project Manager regarding project progress, scheduling, and any potential delays or early completion.
  • Build positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and fellow team members.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within established timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain survey instruments and equipment while resolving minor field-related issues as they arise.

Work Environment

This position requires working in demanding outdoor environments. Candidates should be comfortable:

  • Traveling to project locations throughout the region and across the United States.
  • Walking over uneven terrain, wooded areas, construction sites, and remote locations.
  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, mud, and elevated work areas.
  • Lifting and transporting equipment weighing up to 100 pounds when necessary (with frequent lifting up to 50 pounds).
  • Working overtime or weekends when project schedules require it.

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • At least 3 years of experience leading a survey crew.
  • Solid knowledge of modern land surveying methods and field procedures.
  • Experience using total stations, GPS equipment, data collectors, and related surveying technology.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
  • A commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work on schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License.
  • Experience with Carlson AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
